Unreal Island – Gameplay & Systems Prototype

This project leverages Unreal Engine 5, utilizing systems such as Chaos for physics and destruction, Niagara for particle effects, Landscape tools for terrain, Water system, Animation Blueprints, and advanced lighting features.

Tasks

Procedural Foliage

Implemented procedural foliage to dynamically populate terrain with realistic vegetation, enhancing natural environments without manual placement.

Chaos Destruction

Integrated Chaos physics system to enable destructible objects, including cubes and statues, adding interactive and immersive destruction effects.

Cloth Simulation

Developed cloth simulation for a dynamic flag, bringing realistic fabric movement influenced by environmental forces like wind.

Motion Matching Animation

Used motion matching techniques to create smooth, lifelike character animations that respond naturally to player input.

Water System

Built an interactive water system featuring lakes and shores with realistic behavior and visuals, contributing to immersive landscapes.

Dynamic Day-Night Cycle

Implemented a full day-night cycle that dynamically changes lighting and atmosphere, allowing thorough testing of visual moods and environment transitions.
